BRIDGES offers mobility training services to prepare students and individuals with disabilities to use and access transportation. In addition, BRIDGES is a certifying agency for Rockland County Department of Transportation Regular TRIPS paratransit and reduced fare for county fixed route bus services. BRIDGES serves on the TRIPS board which oversees Rockland County paratransit services.
What is TRIPS?
TRIPS (Transportation Resources, Intra-county, for Physically disabled and Senior citizens) is Rockland County’s paratransit bus service for residents with with physical, mental, developmental or intellectual disabilities or senior citizens who are aged 60 or over. In each of these cases, TRIPS service is reserved for individuals who are unable to use municipal, fixed-route bus service.
TRIPS provides curbside-to-curbside service by appointment. TRIPS passengers may or may not go directly to their destinations and there may be several pick-ups and drop-offs along the way. TRIPS operates only within Rockland County.
