            Ulster County, New York – On Wednesday, March 2nd, Senator John E. Brooks, Chair of the Senate Committee on Veterans, Homeland Security and Military Affairs, and Assemblymember Didi Barrett, Chair of the Assembly Veterans Affairs Committee will join individual leaders of the peer-to-peer support network for veterans, the Joseph P. Dwyer Program. This virtual press conference will discuss the successes of their respective and autonomous programs; highlight the advantages and rewards encountered in their trajectory to expand their mission with Veterans suffering from and living with the mental and emotional results of their military service. The audience will hear from several Veteran panelists who will share their own unique testimonials about their personal experiences working within a particular and unique Dwyer Program community.

The panelists represent each of the current 25 Counties that facilitate Dwyer Programs. They will, based on their own experiences, provide attendees with insights into their own personal struggles as Veterans and explain how a Dwyer Program became a life-changing and life-affirming support system for them–enabling them to successfully reset and return to civilian life.
